I don't think armpit hair or any other naturally-occurring bodily hair is gross, it is merely natural. It maybe attractive or unattractive, like all other parts of us, but not gross, unless the person has bad hygiene habits.

I find the current fad in body shaving, particularly pubic hair, rather funny. It is nothing more than a generational fashion trend, like tattoos and body piercings. It is simply the current fashion, and has no other significance than trendiness. It too will pass, like the shaved head look that is slowly fading away.
