Personally, I find it dull.

Actually, I don't think I started calling it "grass" until I stopped smoking the ol' cheeba.

12. The Wildwood Flower...
Wildwood Weed
Jim Stafford

The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm,
And we never knowed what it was called.
Some said it was a flower and some said it was weed,
I never gave it much thought ......
One day I was out there talking to my brother,
Reached down for a weed to chew on,
Things got fuzzy and things got blurry,
And then everything was gone!
Didn't know what happened,
But I knew it beat the hell out of sniffin' burlap.

I come to and my brother was there,
And he said, What's wrong with your eyes?
I said, I don't know, I was chewing on a weed.
He said, Let me give it a try.
We spent the rest of that day and most of that night,
Trying to find my brother, Bill.
Caught up with him, 'bout six o'clock the next morning,
Naked, swinging on the wind mill!
He said he flew up there.
I had to fly up there and bring him down,
He was about half crazy .....

The very next day we picked a bunch of them weeds,
And put 'em in the sun to dry.
Then we mashed 'em up and chopped 'em up,
And put 'em in the corncob pipe.
Smokin' that wildwood flower got to be a habit,
We didn't see no harm.
We thought it was kind of handy,
Take a trip and never leave the farm!

All good things gotta come to an end,
And it's the same with the wildwood weed.
One day this feller from Washington came by,
And he spied it and turned white as a sheet.
Then they dug and they burned,
And they burned and they dug,
And they killed all our cute little weeds.
Then they drove away,
We just smiled and waved ..........
Sittin' there on that sack of seeds!

Y'all come back now, hear?

I don't put anything up to my lips that's smokin', unless, of course, it's my honey. }(

43. And Being A Cop Makes You a Physician? Or Chemist?
In addition to the legal ramifications of allowing patients to use an illegal substance, health care providers have other causes for concern. Smoking is not an ideal drug delivery route. When exposed to heat, cannabinoids rapidly decarboxylate with aromatisation occurring at 200-4000C. Approximately 150 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons have been isolated from marijuana smoke including the carcinogen benzopyrene (significantly higher than in tobacco smoke), phenols, phytosterols, and terpenes. Taylor has noted an increased incidence of cancer of the upper airways among young marijuana smokers (South Med J 1988; 81:1313-1216), while Ferguson et al have connected marijuana smoking with carcinoma of the tongue (Cancer 1990; 66:1005-1006).

So, you think the findings I have cited are unsupportable? Or is your opinion not supported by the facts, but wishful thinking?

48. No, and how is that relevant to anyone with scientific literacy?
In addition to the legal ramifications of allowing patients to use an illegal substance,

Meaningless and irrelevant to either medicine or chemistry.

health care providers have other causes for concern. Smoking is not an ideal drug delivery route.

That depends completely on the state of the patient, as anyone with even the slightest medical background (which, yes, I do have, thanks) will tell you.

When exposed to heat, cannabinoids rapidly decarboxylate with aromatisation occurring at 200-4000C.

So what? What has this in the least to do with any particular patient's specific medical needs? Please be very, very precise in your answer.

Approximately 150 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons have been isolated from marijuana smoke including the carcinogen benzopyrene (significantly higher than in tobacco smoke), phenols, phytosterols, and terpenes.

Again, absent any particular relationship to specific medical conditions or treatments (or patients, for that matter) what does that quote have to do with anything?

Taylor has noted an increased incidence of cancer of the upper airways among young marijuana smokers (South Med J 1988; 81:1313-1216), while Ferguson et al have connected marijuana smoking with carcinoma of the tongue (Cancer 1990; 66:1005-1006).

Yawn. Try citing specific populations and statistical norms that those studies contain. You'll find your contentions are most likely quite unsupportable.

http://web.ask.com/redir?bpg=http%3a%2f%2fweb.ask.com%2fweb%3fq%3dIs%2...

So, you think the findings I have cited are unsupportable?

Yes.

Or is your opinion not supported by the facts, but wishful thinking?

You don't know what you're talking about.

23. Back when I was in college, many moons ago, we called it
pot or grass, or we might talk about smoking dope. The only time I ever heard it called "mary jane" was on episodes of "Dragnet" and by a guy in Montreal asking my boyfriend (in French) if he had any.

BTW, WTF is "dubage"? Is that a newfangled term used by kids these days?

Back when cell phones were still pretty rare us kids were worried that the po po could be listening to our conversations. So we came up with our own code.

As in, "man, come on over and have a couple of bowls of ice cream."

Only it quickly degenerated into conversation like, "man, I just smoked this big fat bowl of ice cream and now I'm high as a kite."
