my anti virus and security software has expired!
what a scam, my computer is now unprotected! All I need to do is send them more money for their useless "protection"! I remember when I bought this computer spending 150 dollars extra just for this "protection"! What a great investment that has been! Not to mention how every night at midnight it interrupted whatever program I was running to ask me to register...even though I've been registered! But no! This is beyond their comprehension!

Stupid computers...

3. Yeah I'm just gonna give em to my creepy uncle
He said he likes to make scrapbooks and photo albums and stuff. He's under house arrest so I have to go deliver them to him.

4. I like COMODO, it's free and works for me (YMMV)
It is, however tedious to set up and 'train'. But it did get rid of malware that nothing else touched.

Now, if you'll excuse me I'll be getting back to 'shopping all those photos I got off your hard drive...

5. Get AVG or Avast-they're free
Norton and McAfee are protection rackets. Comodo has a free one too but I don't know how good the antivirus is-the firewall is excellent. Also get Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes Antimalware. With all those you are reasonably secure.

8. Who is your ISP? Some of them provide you with anti-virus for free.
Time Warner Cable a.k.a. RoadRunner provide a fairly decent suite - CA Security Suite - free for its subscribers. Earthlink provide a package too, and (shock horror) America OffLine provide a rudimentary package too.

Otherwise Avast! , AVG, there's two free packages off the top of my head.

Then there's always the Linux route... antivirus not really needed for us... yes there's linux viruses but they're nuisances rather than actual pains and easily disabled.

Mark.

10. Use Opera and a firewall. You will never need anti-virus or security
software again...
