Friday Night Kitty Quirk Thread....
Edited on Fri Mar-05-04 07:17 PM by joeybee12
I'll start.

Both my cats will only eat the food out of the right side of their dish (it has two bowls connected together). If there's absolutely nothing left on the right side, then they'll lower themselves to go on the left.

I've heard that dogs and cats are either right-handed or left-handed (or pawed, if you will) and this is an indcation that both are right-pawed kitties.

Either that, or they're both nuts.

And your kitty quirks??????????

2. Our Sid...
Will NOT eat tuna if it's in his bowl--- he will only eat it directly from the can.

3. Tommy won't eat in the mornings until I kiss his forehead
.. then he'll turn his attention to the Fancy Feast, but not before. If he's been outside a long time, too, he'll expect homecoming kissies before dining.

Linda has such violent/active dreams that she'll flail herself off the couch or bed mid-dream. Usually once she's entered deep REM sleep, one of her eyes will open (we watch it dart back and forth), she'll start mewling, moving all four paws in dream-running, and and then eventually she'll take a huge LEAP mid-dream and if we're not there, we often hear a "thump!" on the floor. We keep pillows on the floor now so she's got a soft landing if she falls to the floor.

Clarisse, if you sit still long enough, will groom you, she'll really go to town with your hair if you let her. If you want an inadvertant bouffant, she's the one. She also loves my husband's stinky workshirts, she's got a B.O. fetish.

Finally, KittyGrrrl, our semi-feral baby who skulks in and out of the garage via a cat-door, is a sweetie pie but still skittish enough so that I don't know her personality really well. She was feral from birth, I think, and found our house when she was 18 months old and seriously wild. She's come around enough for us to get her to the vet for shots and a kitty hysterectomy, and I can pet her now and hold her some, but I don't know her quirks very well yet. Though she does looove to bestow kitty forehead rubs all over my face. Very sweet.

4. one of mine likes to play more than he likes to eat. ....
If I don't keep an eye on him to make sure he keeps eating, he paws the floor as if he is trying to bury the dish of food, and after a while gives up and wanders away. So much like a little kid, he tries to hide the food he doesn't want to eat.

Either that, or it's a comment on what he thinks the food tastes like. When he does finish, he tries to bury the empty dish.

BTW, great thread!!

9. Likes to be spanked
My cat MintyFresh likes me to spank her with my hand or a slipper. She meows in a strange way while I do it.
