I have never eaten a "country fried" anything.
I've never had seafood, chicken wings, grits, an avocado, banana cream pie, salmon, a Moon Pie, or Wonder Bread.

What common foods have you managed to avoid ever having tried?

1. A corn dog!
I've never eaten one, and I have no desire to eat one.

They look absolutely disgusting.

LaraMN -- You've never had ANY seafood? None? Regarding the avocado - you are missing out!
Have you had guacamole?

4. No corn dogs!
Not even a mini corn dog?!

I have NEVER had seafood. My mom never served it when I was a kid, and now I've come to feel that it all looks like giant bugs!

I haven't had guacamole, no. My husband eats EVERYTHING. I'd never even tried salsa until I met him!

35. OMG! You sound like my father in law.
He had never eaten CHEESE until he married my mother in law.
How have you never eaten any of those things. I do have to say that country fried steak is something EVERYONE needs to have sometime in their life.
Duckie

3. I'm w/ you on the Wonder Bread.
But I love food, so I'll try anything once. But regionally speaking, I've never had menudo, tongue, chitlins or anything made w/ feet (pigs feet, chiken feet).

6. Yeah. I never saw the point of eating Wonder Bread.
I grew up on whole wheat bread and an occasional (amazing!) loaf of homemade white bread.

9. My MIL tried to force an avocado into my mouth, once.
That is not an effective way to introduce a person to a new food.

16. chicken-fried steak is awesome!
Last time I was in Connecticut, my mom and my brother and I went out to the "Texas Roadhouse Bar and Grill" or whatever the place was named in West Haven. He'd never had a chicken-fried steak, either, and was all "oh, I don't know" about it.

I convinced him to try it out, so he got a huge slab of chicken-fried steak and loved every bite of it!

Mmmm... chicken fried steak...

22. While in Germany...
I had Wiener Schnitzel and remember thinking it wasn't that much different than a chicken fried steak. Then I was watching Alton Brown one day and he said the dish originated with German immigrants and when they couldn't get veal, they simply tenderized a piece of steak as a substitute.

barring a few things here and there that are dangerous, unethical, or harmful to animals.

21. I can't think of anything. I always try something once.
I can't stand cooked fish, much less raw, but I made myself try sushi just so when I said I didn't like it, I actually knew I didn't like it. I am sure there are some common things I haven't tried, but I do make a point to try everything.

33. well, I've tried many things - but I avoid okra, eggplant, liver, lamb and veal

I don't think I've had banana cream pie, but I've had everything else, even chicken-fried steak in a diner, somewhere. I don't like chicken wings, either.

I LOVE. LOVE salmon, shrimp, and most seafoods, except squid.
