1. I don't bother lying

If I'm late, I'm late. I'm not usually but they're never going to find another idiot to do my job and I'm pretty much my own boss so I don't worry about it. :P

2. I am almost never late for work

If I am it's been due to coming across a person or persons, that needed my EMT services.

3. I actually did run out of gas once on the way to work, but I didn't lie about it.

And I wasn't late either.

I thought I could make it from Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Plover, WI on what amounted to barely more than fumes. I was wrong.

I walked to a service shop and called work (I still had at least an hour or two before I really needed to be there), and hoped to get some help quietly. No. The guy who answered the phone had to let the MOST OBNOXIOUS person at the station know my dilemma. To his credit, he did dispatch the phone-answerer to bring some gas to me, but he never let me live down that embarrassing moment.

"Whatsa matter? Don't know how to read a gas gauge?"

I'm a Grad Student, and I work full time, and it's Thursday. (Which means I'm officially 8-10 hours into my sleep deficit and am a quasi-zombie)
