Not like Word Perfect back in the 90s. I was all over the Function keys back then.

8. I use a few of them

There's nothing that can't be done through the menus but function keys are so much faster.

F1 is a fairly common help key
ALT+F4: closes program
F5: Refreshes the current window.
F11 toggle full screen

My OFM borrows from the old Norton Commander interface:
F3 view file
F4 edit
F5 copy
F6 move
F7 new directory
F8 delete

Of course, the larger problem is that your cat now knows how to pry keys off the board. Next time it might be one you need.

Gracie stepped on my laptop keyboard and the D broke off. It couldn't be re-attached. I had to replace the keyboard.
