1. Why not condoms?
Don't think he's getting any or something?
"Hey, where did you get all the rubbers?"
"My parents gave them to me for Christmas."

6. A bottle opener and a "coozie"
Everyone likes candy no matter what their age.

Trial sizes of shaving cream, body wash, etc.

I love doing stockings for everyone in my family!

9. Ramen is classic
Is he dorm bound?

Thumb tacks/tacky putty are almost always use-full.

I have never known a male dorm resident that didn't need a clean towel, socks, tennis balls, and airsoft pistols/ammo. Ear plugs, tylenol.

that sort of thing?

13. Thanks he is dorm bound for the year, he was late in starting first year he had a terrible time in
high school got into bad girls and drugs and finally decided it was a bad choice, he just got his first exam mark 96% I am beyond happy for the changes he made, he is a smart cookie and I had always hoped he would find his way on his own terms. I am proud of the changes he has made in his life.

the only thing... I would skip the travel sized stuff. With all due respect, that was something we all hated. Just small enough that if you used them, you still had to go to the store soon, and way to small for any useful prankery. Usefull things and home things are the best.

OHHH... A large trashcan!!!! with trash bags.

and also an Oberheim FVS synthesizer (rather large!) and an EMS VCS3 MK1 synthesizer...people knew me, that is for sure. I once took the VCS3 on the elevator as it had an AC outlet (and the VCS3 had two mini-speakers built in) and played a noise concert for several passengers.

I say, give him a creative, community-building outlet

Edit: Guitar pedals are great

14. It may sound silly but deodorant & toothpaste for the year.
It will be one expense he doesn't have to worry about. My MIL puts enough in our stockings at Christmas and I really appreciate it.

17. A couple of scratch-off lottery tickets; a gift card or certs to his fave
fast food place; a teeny bottle or two of his favorite wine/liquor (the size they used to give you on airplanes, ya know?); one of those little leather kits with all the manly personal grooming stuff (nail clippers, nose hair trimmers, etc.); deck of cards with his University colors/logo/mascot; mini mind bender puzzles; a gyroscope (never too old for cool old-school toys)...

19. I got a Sudoku cube the other day for a stocking.
Looks like a rubics, but it's Sudoku. Don't ask me how it's done. I can't do either of them. Guys love little toys like that they can play with at their desk or wherever.
