1. Because he's talented
and witty, and therefore ignorable.

Pure musical bliss

But giving it the awkward title of "I've Suffered For My Art, Now It's Your Turn" might not be good for marketing.

3. Love Marshall Crenshaw!
I've seen him in concert two or three times. He has a massive knowledge of pop music, lyricists, artists, etc.
So talented.

Great songwriter and singer.

I saw him at a small venue many years ago, and he and his band were amazing...

5. Amazingly normal guy, too
Sorry about all my brushes w/ rock stories, but I gotta share this one. He was lined up to do a little work in a local studio I was fortunate enough to be allowed to hang out and "gopher" for. He gets to town (mid-90s) and doesn't get the ball-game he wants in his motel, so he walks back to studio--about a mile--rather than take a cab. Everyone else is busy, so I get to drop my gophering and keep him company. We hang out in an outer/relax room watching Cub/Cards, I think. Game ends and then there is a Braves game coming on in a bit. We go get some KFC in my van and then come back and watch another game.

Not much of a story, but that's the point. I'm weirder and have a bigger ego than him.
