Well, my snow dance did work, we have snow in Houston.
I said I could make it snow this year.

The dogs are having a great time running around the yard trying to catch the rather large snow flakes.

The truck and cars have frozen snow on them, also the roof.

Mother nature gave us Ike so she made up for it with giving us a little snow.

1. hey, texanwitch!
Yep, snow in Houston! Who woulda thunk it? I normally get off work at 5pm, but my boss was worried about the traffic because of the snow, and let me go home early! I had to stop by the post office and Randall's on the way home. When I got out of my car, the snow flurries were flying and getting stuck on my sweater! It was really pretty. Its pretty much melting before it hits the ground where we live, but it sure is fun! :hi:

2. Ah, so you're the one I can lump all the blame on!
:P

It's okay to look at. I just don't relish the idea of attempting to drive to work in it tomorrow.

It's bad enough half the drivers out there don't understand what that clear liquid falling out of the sky is, now it's all white, fluffy and frozen and coming at them like styrofoam bits as they flinch and hit the brakes, hard!

It's okay; I used a cornmeal protection barrier around these apartments before Ike came ashore. Only minor damage and we got power back after less than a day of outtage.

5. Yesterday I changed to shorts because it was hot.
By nighttime it was back to sweatpants.

Houston weather.

The snow is really coming down now, the dogs are having so much fun.

6. Way cool.
Everything outside has a coating of snow.

It is strange watching the Weather Channel and see pink and white colors over Houston.

7. It's also interesting looking at the radar
and seeing the precipitation circling almost right on top of us. What is this? A frozen Ike? :P

8. So cool and so strange to see REAL fluffy snow that sticks to the ground.
Grandson has been outside doing his snow dance to keep it coming.
At work we were delighted to have the first real snow of all our offices
around the country - ha,ha, snow day in Houston. I told them I had to
leave early to put my 'snow tires' on.
