Getting in touch with my own prejudices.
Good Cheek bones. Someone was talking about a person who had good cheek bones. Automatically, I assumed Caucasian because in my time, good cheek bones were associated with top models, which were usually over 5 foot something, thin, and had Caucasian features. Perhaps the term "good cheek bones" was a euphemism for race? Afterwards, I realized that this is probably outdated thinking. What is the popular consensus these days?

1. I suppose it could be that.
In my family, it's a euphemism for having inherited some of my granny's Cherokee physical traits.

2. I just think, tall, lean and angular.

I think that characteristic exists within nearly all races but is sometimes more expected within particular nationalities within that race.

3. Well, speaking as a Caucasian
I do have cheek bones but they're not good, even by Caucasian standards...I could never get a job as a model even though I used to be a child model...No matter how much I've weighed the flesh covering my cheek bones has always made me look fat...

4. I think we all have outdated opinions on looks when it comes to race.
I think there are more beautiful black women than white, but I do have a thing about hair. To me, "beautiful" hair always meant straight, shiny and thick. (I am the owner of a head of frizzball hair). I'm 56, so I don't know how much hope there is for me to change my opinions on this one.

5. I always assumed that kind of cheekbone was normally more native american than caucasian.
Mostly 'cause my brother and I both have that kind of cheekbone structure, but no one on my mom's side does. So I assumed it came from my dad's side, and he was half NA. :)

8. Heh... no.
I'm only a quarter, I was born in the northeast, and I never really knew my dad or his side of the family very well. And my dad's side of the family lived in a small town in VT. Not exactly close to their roots. :P

11. I think my concept of the term is way outdated.
I do somewhere remember it being associated with American Indians, which are Caucasian, but my earliest remembrances of the term are earlier than that. So, it is a prejudice I'm happy to let go and view in a more universal manner.

6. Prominent cheekbones are the result of an extra bone in the caucasian face
And it helps them smile faster, too.
