Help with an animation!
Can someone help clean up an animation I am trying to make for a fellow DUer.

Here is the link,

I can't seem to get the candle to flicker smoothly.

(I made it using GIMP)

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide!

1. Looks like you've only got two frames, one left and one right.

You're gonna want one or two more inbetween.

*edit* I just reinstalled Windows recently, so I gotta reinstall GIMP before I can try and take a look at it. :P I didn't even realize you could do animated .gifs in GIMP, I had it but didn't use it all that much.

2. Actually ...
... I tried to make up for the "freezing" of the "right" layer by adding several duplicates of the "left" layer.

And yet, it still doesn't look right.

Blech. Damn computers!

3. Did you rotate the image or flip it?
I'll see if I can have it slowly wobble back and forth by rotating it. Can't guarantee I'll be able to pull it off though, I'm no graphic artist. :)

5. What I mean by "freeze" is the flicker isn't smooth, not the program itself. n/t

6. Yeah, I know. That's what I was talking about with it looking like there are only two frames
even though there are actually eight. :P After I rebooted and GIMP decided to cooperate and not freeze up on me though, I tried to correct it, but the results are rather hilarious.

:P

Lemme give it another shot.

8. Yeah, I just highlighted a little too much. :P

The problem, from what I could see, was that yours just seemed to be flipped back and forth.

GAAH! GIMP froze again. And I think I had it right that time. D'oh. I'm gonna have to reboot. Again. (*&%.
