I am pissed off at my boss
You ever had a boss that makes no sense to you? At a new job to boot? I am strung out, wound up, too tired to cry, pissed off and scared all at the same time. Is it something about the way I communicate, or is it something wrong with me questioning something beccause it is totally illogical and I needed to SAY SO? I apparently insulted someone's intelligence (that would be my boss) by saying it makes no sense to me to do this part of my job in that manner instead of the way I thought it was supposed to be.

I am a PEON ON THE PLANET. Okay, I have dumped, now I'll get over it. Thanks!

Now to go read about other people's problems and be thankful I learn to deal with mine . . . . . I think that's part of the niceness of being able to come here. I couldn't unwind, I couldn't let it go, and it made me not want to do anything when I got home except try to relax and forget about EVERYTHING!!!

'til tomorrow at least! <<<sigh!>>>

I know I'm not a donator right now but I am in the hole, big time. I'll donate in six months if I didn't get myself fired by then, okay?

1. Just hang on. These days, jobs are scarce
You will have to walk on eggshells around your boss. If he says to do something in a certain way, you may want to, first, go back to your desk and think about it. Then, if you are not sure, try to paraphrase his instructions: Did I understood it right that you'd prefer to do these tasks this way, or, perhaps that way?

Be very polite and pleasant.

And if he insists on doing it his way, just nod, smile, say "sure" and... accommodate him.

And if you really cannot stand it, just try to hang on until the economic conditions have improved. Meanwhile you are building a resume.

Good luck!

2. "You ever had a boss that makes no sense to you?" heh! everyone of them...
that's why they call it "work!"

its not you. its them. relax. unwind. cash the paychecks...

(hint: the boss is tough on you because the boss is jealous of you. smirk at the boss every chance you get. this will not improve your work experience, but it will ensure that the boss goes home every night thinking about how much better your life is than his. ha! and you just messed with his mind.)

and you actually questioned your boss and the way he/she does things and you're NEW on the job?!?

:P Oh my......

Both my oldest son's just got laid off from their jobs and they just took orders.... daily!!

Good luck. You'll need it.

* Psst: Your job isn't to question the boss.

Your job is to do as you are told and say; "YES, SIR!"

and "How High?!" when your boss tells you to jump. ;)

6. It would probably be better to say something like "I'd like to understand all

aspects of my job. I was wondering why this procedure is done this way." Shows interest, and possibly, at some point in the past, it made sense.

8. Your boss just may have a very valid reason for doing things the way he does
As in his superiors want it done that way, and that's the only accepted way that procedure is done. It doesn't have to appear logical to you.

It is your job to implement those orders in a prompt and effective manner. It is not your position to argue policy or question why, unless asked to do an illegal or unethical act on the behalf of an employer.

You get paid to do.

When I was in management, I never wasted any time explaining myself over and over to new staff about procedure. New staff was properly trained in procedure and I didn't care how things were done at your last place of employment; my boss didn't care how you were used to doing things; you were hired to do your job in the manner requested.

As long as your employer doesn't tell you to do things in the proscribed manner the result is unsatisfactory to them, because the procedure used is faulty, you have no reason to complain.
