Oh, wow, the Duggars are on TV again

TLC seems to have a marathon going. They're wholesome, they're organized, they're Christian, they all look alike. Do they support those 17 kids by going on TV or what?

1. Saw a bit of it last week...I think it was last week.

It was one of those nights when I was laying in bed 1/2 asleep, flipping through channels and happened upon them. I was curious when the Mom said they have rental properties for income, although she didn't say how many properties. I was dozing off and on but I do remember the Father standing by a cell tower on their land. I don't know how much rent they get from the company for that, but around here I've heard it can be $6,000 or more a year.

The last thing I remember was the Mom and some of the boys in a 2nd hand store for shoes because a couple of the kids needed shoes. I think the shoes were $1.00 a pair.

Can't help but be curious how they support all those kids.

2. I'm thinking they get paid for the TV shows

I have mixed feelings about the Duggars. They seem to really enjoy their children and everyone seems clean and happy. On the other hand, it would be like growing up in a day-care center. How do the kids get any individual attention?

7. I'm curious how much they get paid.

Those shows seem to be gaining in popularity, with the Duggar family, Jon & Kate plus 8, Little people/Big world plus those of celebrities.

I'm not crazy over such big families as the Duggars. It's their choice and none of my business, but I've seen a few very large families where a majority of the responsibility is thrown onto the older siblings and IMO, that isn't fair to those kids.

5. flipping between this and the lion show

don't know what I think about the newly engaged kids holding off even kissing till they're married and the fact that they need a chaperone when they go out.

10. Wow! Josh and Anna Duggar can have their own spin-off show!!

I had to laugh when I read that they use the buddy system with the kids==an older one helps a younger one--and Momma D gives the example--like helping the younger one pick out the color of his outfit for the day--then I look at one of the family pix--looks like they all picked blue!
