He clearly used to be someone's house cat; god knows why he's not at that home anymore. He is very skinny, has put on weight since he came to us but not enough, in my opinion.

He lets us pet him now and then. :)

though and enjoyed several summers there. He was a real barn cat and never adjusted to humans completely.

11. Our newest addition to the pride, Missy

We have a feral female that lives in our neighborhood that we call 'Momma'. I adopted two brothers, one a gray tabby, one brown from one of her litters two years ago.

Momma cat moved her most recent litter of five from two doors away to be closer to free food, and shelter under our deck. They were born just around the first of this month, we think. She's done that with four of her litters over the years, and we've been catching her kittens when they're weaned and eating solid food and getting them homes.

This year we're going to try and get Momma neutered.

Anyway, for some reason two weeks ago, she moved four of her kits from under our deck, but left Missy. She was screaming for Momma, and we thought that since the neighbors were having a party outside, Momma got spooked and would come back in the morning for Missy, so we left her there for the night. Well, Momma didn't come back the next morning, and the kitten was dehydrated, cold and crying piteously.

We took her in, and have been bottle-feeding her now for the last nine days. When Momma did come back for food the following day, we tried to get her interested in her kitten, but she wanted nothing to do with her, and Missy turned right around and wobbled back into the house.

Missy thinks I'm Mom now. That little kitten goes wherever I go, and sleeps as close to me as she can.

She's been eating the kitty milk substitute really well, and has gained enough weight to become a little chubby kitty.

She's a real sweetie.

20. Her given name is Miranda.

Miranda Bailey. (Yes, "Grey's" is one of my stories. My only one, actually.) I called her Rat Face when she was little so as to make her "ugly," so I wouldn't want to keep her. You see how well that worked.
