give me some love--FB friend deleted me
OK--so today I logged in to my Facebook account and noticed that I had several fewer friends. I have no idea why anyone deleted me--I actually haven't been very active for a couple of weeks--so I haven't done much of anything at all on facebook--but would people delete me just because I haven't been very entertaining for a couple of weeks? (I have been busy with the election and job hunting)

WTF?

I just feel very unloved and unwanted. show me some kindness DUers...after all I have been out there working my heart out for this election....that is why I haven't had much time for socializing...

People can be so crazy...

1. Sorry you're having a rough time, samuraiguppy.
Thanks for everything you're doing for the Obama campaign.

2. thanks for the support
I just feel kind of rejected. It isn't like I have done anything horrible--except maybe neglect my friendships for a few weeks. But I have a lot going on right now. I sure wouldn't delete anyone for that.

And I got no message or anything--just deleted...

very sad...

3. I think online friendships
just by the nature of the medium, can tend to move very quickly -- certainly more quickly than I move at times. Maybe that's part of the problem you're experiencing. I hope things fall back into place for you very soon.

4. that is very wise--
and then if someone is not keeping up with the pace for a bit--well it just falls flat much faster.

Oh well--nothing I can do....

7. no--one is not American
so has no real stake in the election at all.

The other is very liberal--big Obama supporter. But--I hate to say it--but just the mere fact of being an Obama supporter does not necessarily mean you are the nicest person in the world. I know--most of us are very nice people--but this girl is self absorbed and can be mean. And she is not just a FB friend--we actually went to college together although we haven't seen each other in years. I think she is just high maintenance and was mad because I haven't been entertaining her lately.

Couldn't she have sent a note instead--like hey what's up guppy--are you busy or stressed right now? Instead--she just dumps me....

The other person was my friend from playing an online game--I haven't had time to do this lately--so I guess I don't blame him for dumping me--but still--dude--after the election I would have been back.

Bad timing that they both dumped me over the weekend.

It should be a lesson to me not to neglect my friends--but instead I have decided that I don't want to mess around with high maintenance people anymore.

9. I hardly pay any attention to any facebook friends.
I may log in and that's about it. Unless it's an email of substance, I really don't have time for any heavy involvement in social networks. If someone "pokes me" on Facebook, they're lucky if I even notice within the same month! I don't delete people either. The only exception (theoretically, not inferring it applies here) might be if someone became upset I wasn't spending enough "internet time" with them. That kind of drama would be a big turn off.

10. before I got into the election I was hanging out
there a lot--but doing some games/applications that I liked. So people got kind of used to me responding quickly, accepting the things they sent me etc. Now--I haven't checked in for a while (I was in Nevada helping with the election and have generally been very busy).

So people are mad that I am all of a sudden not there for them.

You are right--the drama is a big turn-off...

Gen (the girl who deleted me) did it to get my attention--she wants me to come back and kiss her butt. Forget about it babe.

12. wow that's random
most people think the size of their friend's list is just as important as breast/dick size

Sorry youre friends were being douches. I've erased a few over the years, but only the ones I don't know in real life who just added me to pad their count; we've never even exchanged a conversation. I also deleted a few of my students because it was kinda awkward reading their profiles. Some things I just DON'T want to know.

21. That may not be because people deleted you.
They could have deleted their profiles as a whole. Or there could have just been an error--Facebook is full of them.
