34. not true. the end of the movie is amazing. it's actually a part in the middle that really drags.
like, there's a good 20-ish minutes of the movie that probably could've been left out.
but it's an awesome movie nonetheless.

I enjoyed the first hour, but felt the last act kind of lost it.
If you enjoy zombie flicks this is an interesting take on them, and not bad, just not great. It did have a few cool moments. I haven't watched the sequel yet though.

A week before that, a restored print of The Godfather.

The only time I go to the theater is for special events like that -- the last time I was in a theater previously was for Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004.

21. X-Files
There was a long streak where I didn't see anything... I think the last movie I saw in Florida before I moved was Superman Returns. My brother fell asleep halfway through. :P Then I didn't see anything for a while until I finally got around to seeing Dark Knight, WallE and X-Files. I wanted to catch Clone Wars and Hellboy, just to fill my geek quota. But I didn't manage to catch 'em.

I was a pretty easy kid in that respect, I never dragged either of my parents to kid movies or Disney on Ice or anything like that. I never had a boy band phase either.

Come to think of it, my parents owe me pretty big on that one.

I wish we still had a movie theater here. They shut the Cinema down after it played Showgirls. The town council said it was banned here. The Cinema played it anyhow. The town council shut them down.

I shit you not. We have no movie theater here in Rockingham and haven't had one for over 10 years now. We have a tiny little theater for plays, but it ain't all that. Recently, though, they have decided to play movies on weekends instead of act out the plays. They play really old movies though...if a movie has been on regular television as a rerun at least 50 times already, they'll play it in the theater. :eyes:

69. 21
A few months ago, about a team of young professional card counters.

Pretty good, but like every film with a gambling connection they botched the emphasis in many areas, overstating some things that any gambler would know, while glossing over topics that would have required sustained attention to detail by everyone involved.

Also like every casino movie, the eye in the sky was ridiculously glamorized. I know many undercover security here and they laugh at the way the cameras are portrayed. The casinos want to intimidate cheats and undesirables by pretending the camera catches everything. It's hardly reality.

79. Just Last Weekend: "Appaloosa"

Really really good Western; highly recommended.

That's the first flick at a theater my wife and I have been to in a awfully long time. It has to be something special for us to put up with the hassle.......

80. A French movie: "Tell No One"
A mystery made in France but based on a book by American author Harlan Coben.

83. Yes, it was one of those films that pulls the rug out from under you
each time you think you know what's going on.

I also liked "Roman de Gare," another plot-twisting French film from earlier this year. I'd rate it above "Tell No One," in fact.

Edited on Sat Oct-11-08 11:28 AM by ikhor
that was the last one. I was really high. Movie wasn't that good except for Danneel Harris, who was incredibly hot. (especially as the stoner punk girl, and she really does smoke weed in real life!)

edit: i just watched Order of the Phoenix on dvd. I didn't like it. The HP movies are getting worse as they go, IMO. I liked Luna though, she was cool heh.

Hubs and I don't get out much. We'd rather kick back on the couch and dial up PPV.

The only other movie we've seen in a theater in the fifteen years we've been together was "Passion of the Christ," and that was only because his family bought the tickets and we all went together.

HATED it.
