35. Lol. The natives here are called Conchs. Plenty of them.

The high school mascot is the Fighting Conch (giant conch shell outside.)

Those of us who migrated here for whatever reason are called "Fresh-water Conchs", but only after 7 years.

The tallest building on Duval Street is called La Concha (pronounced as in CHA-CHA). Otherwise conch is pronounced like "conk".

You can eat conch burgers, conch salad, conch fritters, conch stew...but all the conch in those will have come from the Bahamas, because it is illegal to harvest conch here in the Keys. They were way over-fished and are protected.

But yes, you do see plenty of conch if you go out snorkeling or diving.
