Actually, I wanna give it up for a bunch of San Diego bands I'm listening to at this moment in that wayback machine called "the CDs in that box I finally opened".

RFTC. Tanner. Drive Like Jehu. And of course No Knife. Anyone who names their own album after a Tom Waits song gets bonus points.

In the same vein, there was a band called "4" somewhere in California that were so good it was scary. You know, in that big, big, loud, loud, wholly controlled way.

We used to call it math punk. ;)

Holly Golightly (from Thee Headcoatees) sang on the first track on their album. Kick ass.
