Glassy eyes but coherent - what is this a sign of?
So I was talking to one of my deans today... really great guy. During the conversation, I noticed his eyes were incredibly glassy. I first thought he was high, but wouldn't his eyes be red if that were the case? He was talking, a bit jocular, but fairly functional. What would cause his glassy eyes?

2. I happen to have a little insight into this...
mr. mcctatas is something of a regular consumer of exotic herbs. The short version, if high his eyes probably would have been red and glassy, unless he uses Visene by the case like my other half...

5. Is there a chance he's a diabetic?
I can relate to the "bit jocular, but fairly functional" aspect of a low blood sugar (hypogylcemia). Don't know about the glassy eyedness, but I can say my vision tends to 'strobe' when I drop far enough (25 - 35 mg/dl).

6. My eyes have always been "glassy"
Even when I was a kid and in the times when I hadn't had anything to drink for years.
Some people just have shiny, happy eyes.

9. Allergies?
I look like hell during ragweed season and I wouldn't be surprised if half the faculty thought I was baked through late summer and early fall.

Nope, sorry guys, just coked out on every allergy medicine under the sun. ;)

11. This is my first thought. Allergy medicine will do that.
He was probably feeling good because he was finally NOT feeling bad ;)

12. Shining Happy Peepers?
Sorry, that was really bad. This thead is hilarious and just what I needed today!

He might be on "the nod"--heroin often doesn't make a person's eyes red, and if they are functional on it, they just can tolerate whatever anyone says to them much better?

Thanks to you and the other posters to this thread for cheering me up after a long day!
