In my front yard .. right now..
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 06:44 PM by auntAgonist

kind of fuzzy, poor quality. I couldn't get a better shot than through the window :)

I love living in the country, we have our own (so it seems) herd of beautiful deer and other assorted creatures.

1. Looks like the deer that I saw
walking near the side of the road the other day..after he had kindly strolled off the middle of the road in front of me...I don't live in the country per se..but I do live near a State Park...:)

7. good he got off the road!
I love watching them from the window. We have 3 sets of twins and they are so active in the early evening. They love the crab apples.

2. We've been getting them running behind our fence.
In fact, one day, one of them stopped and the puppy was up against the fence wagging her tail. The deer bent down and the two were nose to nose. It was adorable. I just didn't get to my camera fast enough.

Don't expect to see that again anytime soon.

18. Had a deer hanging out in my backyard
a couple of years ago, when I had taken my carpets and rugs out of my supposedly finished basement after my water line blew out. He was standing on the rug like it was a living room--and alas, I also didn't get to my camera fast enough.

3. Very pretty
Do you live near a lake, too? Wasn't sure if that was water or a road in the background... and you know my unstoppable curiosity! :hi:

4. That's the road. I wish it was a lake though.
It looks closer than it really is, I zoomed in to get the deer from an upstairs window.

17. That's killer!
We get deer in our backyard, but not in the front...I think it is because their habitat is getting built up with homes? I see more deer in CT than I ever saw growing up in Maine. Saw three little ones beside the road coming off my highway exit yesterday. I usually beep my horn to scare them away.

Great pic!

29. Aww, look at that mini rack!
I live in the city and see deer all the time. Pittsburgh is weird, though, we have all these little pockets of wilderness scattered throughout the city and the deer (and turkeys and foxes, etc) seem perfectly comfortable in them.

30. Deer are so pretty. I just came back from a wildlife park where you could
feed the deer and elk. They do have long lashes.

31. That is lovely
We have a county park next door to our community and there is a burn" that runs in back of our house from it to the South River, which really is part of the Chesapeake Bay. When it rains, burns carry the water to the Bay. Since it's usually dry, animals use it as a highway, especially deer and fox. We have a fence up around our backyard because of our dogs, but I've seen deer in neighbors' yards. They will come up to the fence and look in at our canines who are usually going crazy - all except the Siberian Husky. He just stands quietly and looks right back. It freaks the deer.
