So I'm walking into the local Walgreens and I'm reading some mail or something
and low and behold there is a step right there that I walked right into. I fell flat on both my knees and looked like a jerk. Now I have to keep putting peroxide on the scrapes, (especially the right one) because they are red and swollen and obviously infected. A regular band-aid would not cover either of the scrapes as they are too big. And they hurt.

Am I a klutz or what?

1. peroxide will damage healthy tissues
Only use it once, then switch to an antibacterial wash (betadine wash is good).
