Sometimes I feel like I can't catch a break.
Every time I think I have cleared up the current drama, something else happens :banghead:

I had to leave work early on Monday to take Egypt to the vet because she was limping and not putting weight on her front paw. A few hours and $200 later, sprained paw - who would have thought?

A special project I volunteered at work for which was sold as an overtime only basis at 5 hours a week - turned into 13 hours a week, only 5 of which are overtime. I got pulled from my regular work to work on this project every Wednesday from now until the end of the year. :wow: And no one covers my work while I am out, so it will pile up.....oh, and the special project - I have to work on it in a little room with terminals - not even from my own desk. When I asked if I could please work at my desk because of my carpal tunnel (I have a special keyboard and mouse) they said yes at first and then the higher-ups decided I should unplug my keyboard and mouse and bring it down to the crowded little room. :wtf:

I went to the symphony on Wednesday night, after that crappy day in the little room, and my joints hurt so badly and I was so bitter and angry about the day, that I left after the first piece - claiming Little MB had a headahe and we needed to leave. Mr MB stayed with my dad. :(

A friend who blew in from out of town on Thursday decided to invite himself to stay in my home. After quick thinking and consulting with a mutual friend, she agreed to take the houseguest on for me. I was very stressed for some time there, though.:scared:

And finally, Friday is here - TGIF! I was stung by a bee last Friday, and still have this huge welt on my leg. I finally decided that this was not normal (never been stung before) and called the doctor. They could not see me today and sent me to urgent care. The doc at urgent care determines that I have Cellulitis (yay - a deep tissue stapph infection - just what I've always wanted) and then tells me that he doesn't think I have fibromyalgia at all, but that I have Lyme disease. He said the rash I developed on the site of the bee sting is indicative of Lyme - and that the Cellulitis has aggravated the Lyme. I am to follow up with my regular doctor, take antibiotics, etc.

So there you have it - a usualweek. Dog injuries, achy joints, evil corporate greed and medical emergencies. If it had not been this, it would have been something else. Believe me....

3. My dear malta blue!
Oh, my god, what a horrible week!

ONE of those things would have been too much, never mind all of them!

My complete sympathies, sweetie...

I hope your weekend is a huge improvement over what you've endured this week...

5. thanks Peggy....I was really looking forward to being
on vacation this coming week, and now the doc said the antibiotics will make me more sensitive to the sun - there goes my daily sunbathing. I know it's not good for you, but I need the heat for my joints - and I always wear sunscreen.:nuke:

Thankfully I scheduled some pampering time next week too - a massage and a hair appt. :D

14. So sorry your
week has been so crappy. I hope your regular doc finds that the urgent care doc is wrong about his diagnosis. Sounds very strange, don't you think? Anyway, I hope your coming week off brings you some relief and you enjoy the pampering part of it. Hope your puppy is better soon, too.

My week was awful, too. I turned 50 and had an abscess the same day. Then yesterday I didn't know my dog was under the car when I was leaving for work. It was very traumatic and I'm still pretty shaken up. I wish I could take yesterday back and make it all different.

15. oh my - is your dog okay?
I'm assuming yes :scared:

My pups are curled up next to me right now - the only thing that helps me get through the day sometimes is my little Egypt and our new one Zeus.

17. Yikes! That's harsh!
So sorry you had to go through all that, MB. However, perhaps there's a bright side to this, as your body's reaction to the bee sting alerted the doctor to the possibility that you might not have fibromyalgia at all. My mom has polymyalgia, and it seems from my second-hand experience that having curable Lyme disese is far preferable to having incurable fibromyalgia. So in a weird way, something might have worked out for the best! ...Er, hope that's not too Pollyanna-ish for you! :hi:

18. you know that thought crossed my mind...
the thought of all the bloodwork :scared: was not a good one, and all the stress involved therein, but a treatable ailment is surely something I would consider good news. :hi:

19. The universe works in mysterious ways
Take care of yourself, first and foremost, whatever the diagnosis is--fibromyalgia and Lyme disease are both exacerbated by stress, if I recall correctly.
