5. I could just sooo relate.
I have a "problem child" male that can be such a little snarly butt, and will occasionally cause mischief for the older, more laid back female cat. She's pretty docile, but she has been know to smack him down a few times.

Years ago I took the approach to let them work it out, but now I intervene. He's just too damned ornery when he gets a cat hair up his little butt.

3. Beautiful cats.
This may not be related, but since you posted cats, I want to tell you what I saw tonight. My husband and I feed some feral cats that live by the local railroad station. (Three of them actually, and a stray raccoon or two that happens to wander by.) One of the cats is pregnant. We set down the food bowls and the three cats (who were waiting for us, we try to go the same time every night) start eating. Momcat stops eating and starts acting funny, looking all around her like she is looking for something. Goes back to the food and starts eating again. Then she looks at us and starts crying and crouching like she is gonna poop. And she gave birth to a little stripey-looking kitten. She cleans it and eats a little bit more, then she picked the kitten up and went into the woods with it. We were just dumbfounded. (I really would like to catch her and have her fixed, though.) I hope she and the baby will be all right. She must trust us, if she had the baby right there in front of us and so close. (At least, I like to think so.) I just thought it was a wonderful sight.

4. That is a wonderful story... I think she was wanting you to be there too.
Just in case. Mama cats are pretty smart. I hope they all fair well.
