3. this was your first mammogram, right?
If so, don't worry too much. The first two I had I was called back for ultrasound. Honestly, if this was your first one, they don't know what they're looking at - they have no films to compare it to.

They're being careful. It's OK.

4. Best wishes from me.
I don't do well with any sort of worry, but I can tell you that worry does not help the outcome. Please let yourself be calm until you get your test results and hope for the best.

7. Try not to worry, greenbriar.
Easier said than done, I imagine. I had to have an ultrasound and needle biopsy after a mammogram about 10 years ago. Everything turned out ok.

:)

9. It's like any ultrasound...
They use one of those thingys with some gel and they move it around on your breast, which is uncovered.

The rest of you is covered, needless to say...

Needle biopsies don't hurt.

It's a tiny stick.

Like a pin prick, if my memory serves.

I hope this helps!

10. Ultrasound:
I've had many, as I've had fibrocystic breast condition since age 24 (I refuse to call it a disorder, I'm just fine, thank you), and I'm 31 now. Mammos are useless on young & dense breasts.

You go into a nice mellow room, in a gown, lay down, they pull the gown down, they put the goo on, and run the ultrasound wand over them while watching the monitor. If they see anything of concern, they go over it a few more times and take more films. In your case, and mine, if they already have an area they want to look at, they'll probably concentrate on that.

It's painless and pretty stress free. :)

20. My Mom and all three of my sisters went thru that: for nothing.
Each of them had biopsies, scared to death, and it was nothing for all four of these family women. Me? I've only had one mammogram at age 52. Bad girl.
