34 years and still kicking ass! Rush was AMAZING last night!!!
FINALLY got to see Rush for the first time last night and holy hell, they were AMAZING!! They played a bunch of songs from their new album, Snakes and Arrows, and a bunch of classics including Limelight, Freewill, The Spirit of Radio, 2112, Tom Sawyer, YYZ, A Little Victory, Passage to Bangkok. They got political with their new song, A Larger Bowl, by doing a slide show that hightlights the massive gap between rich and poor. Neal Peart did his signature drum solo which brought one of the biggest applauses of the night. After his solo, Lifeson got to do his own solo on a 12 string acustic guitar. Then they wrapped it up with Spirit of Radio, 2112, and Tom Sawyer with a great South Park Intro ('lil Rush). They came back for an encore and did Passage to Bangkok and concluded with and awesome YYZ. You'd never guess they were all in their 50s with the high level of energy they kept up the whole show.

Steven Colbert summed it up nicely Wednesday night when he talked about their not being in the Hall of Fame: "Are you going to name your next album This is Bullshit?"

2. My husband might see them Sunday night
His boss might have an extra ticket he can use. He's seen them a lot of times already but not in the past few years so I hope he'll get to go. I mean I hope the other guy won't get to go.

They were great on Colbert and so funny too but I was upset how the interrupted the music for the commercials x(

their new songs are excellent and Peart has a new drum solo, plus Lifeson does a pretty cool solo.

6. I really need to get my ass to a show this time around.

Honestly, I would need to buy Vapor Trails and Snakes and Arrows before going to see them... I've never heard anything from either of those albums.

How dare I even call myself a Rush fan!

7. meh, you don't need to get the albums before the show
what's a better way to hear a song for the first time than to hear it live? They only have 3 more shows left anyway: DC, Charlotte, Atlanta.

9. Atlanta is 7/22
there very well may be seats, I was really surprised that they didn't sell out Hershey, but IDK, they had already played Pitt, Philly and Atlantic City, so PA could've been Rush-ed out by the time they got to Hershey. Good luck though!
