Should i tile my laundry room floor today--or--start teaching my daughter how to drive?
if i decide to put tile down i need to go buy a blade for the tile saw and some grout, the tile i have already, if i take my kid out to teach her how to drive i might end up needing a new clutch.

1. Start teaching your daughter how to tile the laundry room floor
Two birds.

2. she helped me tile her bathroom but you know the laundry room has sheet vinyl that
has to be removed, it might be a good day for her to learn how to use the floor scraper.

6. Actually if it is glued down do not remove it......
Vinyl flooring is a great anti-fracture membrane. Just cut the cove out (if it has cove) and use some type of acrylic mortar additve to the thin set. By leaving it in, if the slab cracks it will not crack the tile.

I know it sounds weird but I am in the tile business and this is common practice.

10. it;s torn in a few spot and some it started coming up easily so i'm ripping it out, it's
actually good quality, it has no paper backing so once it's lifted out i or she or we can scrape off the glue.

if you are going to let your daughter do it, will it?

I have no idea what kinds of tools are required to do this job. Something to keep in mind.

7. i have the tools, you need a tile saw which i have already, tile nippers and some assorted
this and thats. I'd let her use the tile saw under close supervision of course. The good thing is that the laundry room is slab on grade which means no underlayment is needed which makes the job a lot easier for me cause the Durock is some heavy stuff that i don't feel like carrying today.

yourself, when the job is done you can say, hey, i did that.

Or it's a simple case of trowel and error.

12. Tell her that if she wants a driving lesson, she must first tile the floor.
Abuse this system until she has a license.

this poor kid, her friends are doing this or that today and she's stuck with me. I'm sure if that phone rings with a better offer she'll be out the door.
