Well, I bet I've got a few more gray hairs now...
Edited on Wed May-28-08 10:57 AM by LaraMN
I was running an errand with a friend this morning, and JackMN was tagging along. We were driving down the road when I suddenly heard a WHOOSH of air, and realized Jack had wriggled loose from his car seat and opened the car door. I immediately shouted "NOOO!!!" reached into the backseat, grabbed JackMN, and simultaneously pulled the car over REALLY fast.

Child safety locks- even if they're inconvenient, they're a good idea.

:scared:

3. I was severely rattled.
I will be revisiting our choice in child safety seat. It was way too easy for him to get out of his.

4. After my last foray to Dairy Queen with him
I was already contemplating a junior-size strait jacket. Now it's starting to seem like a very good idea...

5. I figured you would not be offended by my silly comment.
My son did that when he was about 3. Scared the bejeebers out of me.

8. I don't have a whole lot of time alotted for stewing over offense.
I have to paint my nails and do other pressing and important things.

:D

Neither of my other kids EVER tried to open the door in a moving car. Just when I think I've seen it all, Jack threshes fresh fields of terror.

11. It scared the hell out of me.
A child falling out of a moving car is one of my ultimate nightmares!

13. Worst fears...come to life.
It is why I still keep the lock on the window and door of BabyG's side of the car...even at 9.

I am so glad he is okay.

14. It continually amazes me that most children live to adulthood
given the multitude of opportunities for disaster.

15. Thankful you are OK. Kids have a nasty habit of getting out of those car seats
Had to respond to an accident where a woman turned around (because their child got out of his seat) and ended up crashing into a parked car. You're right, child safety locks are a potential life saver.
