Hat's off to John Daly
My brush with greatness

When I was in college, Daly lived down the Hall in Hotz Hall at the University of Arkansas. He would often come over and have a beer. He was on the golf team and they all stayed in Hotz and ate at the Fulbright dining hall.

The coach was a jagoff and the other team players were d*cks also, but John was a super nice guy.

It still bothers me that he is portrayed as a jerk, even if he has behaved like one.

Congrats John. Give 'em hell!

1. I think he's almost universally liked!
He's been knocked down a lot, but always gets back up. I'm happy for him. :-)

2. Daly's a solid guy
I pull for him when he plays. Love his style, grip it and rip it.

3. Kudos to the comeback kid
After seeing him battle alchoholism and even a few breakdowns on the course, it's great to see him win again. Many who belittle him wouldn't have the strength and determination to overcome what he has.

4. It was great to see him win again
I just watched his post-game interview on Golf Channel and it was very nice. He's had a tough journey.

Now when will Tiger find his drive again? It's amazing he scores as well as he does when he's spraying the ball all over the place.

5. I think if Tiger would hit his 2-iron
off every par 4 and 5 hole, he'd score better - been saying it for years.

6. When you said "John Daly"
I immediately thought of the host of the 1950s-60s game show, "What's My Line?"

I guess I'm showing my age.
