Worst season ending cliffhanger ever?
The only one that really pops out at me, is the season ender of Little House on the Prarie, season 7(I believe).

In this little gem of mind stretching...one of the boys, Charles adopted gets shot by accident...Charles flips out, and takes the boy out in the wild, and lives off the land. While he is out there, some old dude, who proclaims to be an angel tells Charles to build an alter to jesus/god...

So Charles builds a little stone structure, and puts a wooden cross atop of it...a lightning storm comes through, and lightning hits the cross, and in the super cheesy/suck ass way the special effects were back in the day, the cross glows this weird blue color, and whammo....Charles is knocked out, and wakes up the next morning to discover that his adopted boy is now healthy!

Wow...I couldn't believe how utterly stupid, worthless this episode was...so, which one is worse than this?

1. But the Series Finale of that show was pretty satisfying.
Where the residents just blow up the whole the damn town?

Yesssss!!!

I hadn't watched the show in ages before that.

But, for a show that went on about 5 years too long...(at least.)

There was something enjoyable in seeing everything go Ka-Boom.

2. Yeah, I never thought the series would end like that
but if I were in the same shoes, I probably would've done the same thing...

15. Some tycoon owned the land the town was sitting on...
they didn't want him to have the buildings and blew them up.

3. I agree, since I read the books as a kid.
And they kind of jumped the shark with all of the additional characters and plotlines... Though Knots Landing got pretty bad, as well.:-(

5. Starbuck returning at end of Season 3 of BSG
I was glad she was gone. I can't stand that character.

7. Who shot Mr. Burns?
The cliffhanger itself was fine, but the resolution was so impossibly stupid that I consider it to be the moment when the show jumped the shark. All downhill since then.

9. The stupidity of the resolution was what made it so great to me.
I mean, if it was a serious show, yeah, stupid, but for The Simpsons, it got everyone wondering and talking, then it was just "Oh yeah, the baby did it." It was like a big, elaborate prank.

18. That's a very good point
I never looked at it that way. But you can't deny the show has slipped since then.

8. The season 6 finale of "The X-Files." Mulder losing his mind was...not entertaining.
And after everything that had happened up until that point, they could have gone about eight different other ways to close out the season, most of which would have been more engaging and suspenseful. But...no. Mulder in a looney bin reading minds or something. I barely even remember why that was supposed to be important.

11. X-Files wound up really pissing me off
The first 4 or so seasons were BRILLIANT, but at a certain point it became clear it wasn't GOING anywhere.

Like all the arc episodes were NEVER going to resolve into ANYTHING AT ALL.

I swear I want to see a show like X-Files that is only SUPPOSED to go for 3 seasons, so there's a beginning, a middle, and an END. And the beginning, middle, and end all make sense.

16. that's part of the reason I stopped watching
the other being that they'd go through the most fantastic things imaginable which would require months of therapy, and come back the next week like it never even happened.

17. I think that goes hand-in-hand with "not going anywhere"
Like, between the cancer and the baby and Mulder's sister and both of them being abducted like, 8 times, and Krycek and Skinner getting implanted and Siberia and the black oil and the bees and the twins/clones and the artifact in Africa and Cancer Man and everyone in both their families getting horribly killed and purity and their trip to Antarctica....

I wanted to see the plot lines either start to converge or start to get resolved, but instead it was like they were adding new plot lines seemingly out of nowhere and not continuing or resolving old plot lines. That and at a certain time, like you're saying, it's like the "monster of the week" episodes started to seem really... out of context.

10. Season 1 of Farscape
Everyone died....but, no, wait! They didn't!

The resolution was so completely idotic and contrived that the show lost me right there.

13. Bobby in the shower in the series Dallas...
He was supposed to have been killed, but it turned out that Pam had been dreaming that entire season. That's when we stopped watching Dallas. Utterly and completely stupid.

And yeah, that Little House episode sucked. Blech!

14. Most recent Prison Break.
WTF? I couldn't even tell if they were coming back for another season or not. Then I read somewhere that the girlfriend is coming back next season because it WASN'T HER DECAPITATED HEAD IN THE BOX! Oy.
