28. This is an odd choice because on the surface it's a sad song.

But something about it (and this is a common theme in a lot of this man's music) makes me feel both happy and sad. His music always stirs mixed emotions at once in a way no other band or artist does, and that alone inspires me. I've got Greed on CD somewhere around here. There is definitely something inexorable about Swans - those who've only seen the Love of Life video on MTV don't know the half of it. Swans is what you listen to when Lustmord is just too damned cheerful.

It's a shame that Michael Gira and Jarboe couldn't make it work. Jarboe's Honey cut right through me and brought me close to shedding tears. It's very personal and painful.
