3. Bob Dylan made an impact on The Beatles, they wrote much better
after being turned-on to Dylan.
It's the words, man:smoke:

12. Yep ........

while Dylan was writing Blowin In The Wind, A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall, Masters Of War, the Beatles were singing I Wanna Hold Your Hand.....Lennon once said how they were greatly influenced by Dylan and the groups songwriting changed because of that......

4. Dylan at Newport backed up by members of The Paul Butterfield Blues
Band. The whole debate about using amplified instruments.
Roots music influences. Blues!
Biblical imagery.
Great storyteller.

6. What if the Beatles are playing Dylan tunes?
At this hypothetical battle of the bands?

13. It really is a monumentally deep, heavy question,

Bob. "How can you do this to me?" was literally my frst thought. But since the Beatles are leading, I felt no guilt about voting for Bobby Dylan. It should be a tie, I think. Though Dylan's done some weaker albums, I think the Fab Four would have done some weaker work, also, had they stayed together long enough. (Look at some of their individual work!) And Dylan definitely wins on words.

15. I don't think there's any realistic way to assess it.

We can't really imagine life without either Dylan or the Beatles, Even if you're not a Dylan fan (or not a Beatles fan), his influence (and theirs) is huge. What musician has not been influenced by him (them)?

20. no way
I didn't vote in the poll. I can't choose between the 2. But as much as I love the Beatles--and I love the beatles; I was raised on them--Dylan leaves the bigger hole. Because he has influenced more music/musicians.

but this is still quite close. And it's early yet.
