No, really. I totally agree. If you watch it again, you'll see the "TINA!~BRING ME THE AXE!" scene--> Faye Dunaway/Joan Crawford wails away on this potted sticklike tree she could very well have just kicked over. I do have the (dubious) advantage of having seen it like 10 times & so have appropriated a desensitized view of the movie itself, in favor of my appreciation of its camp. The book goes into more somber detail. But yeah, "fucking maniac" pretty well covers it.
