"Its" is possessive and "it's" is the contraction for "it is."

not possessive.

And how can "it" be plural? "There are several its on the floor"? "Go get some its at the store"?

14. That happened to me when I was 4
I was out of town visiting cousins. I didn't know their last name and I got lost in their neighborhood. I ended up in tears and just knocked on some stranger's door.

How I ever made it to 44 is still a mystery, frankly.

34. That happened to me when I was about twenty.
I was really drunk and I got separated from my boyfriend in his apartment complex, which seemed to go on forever, a repeating pattern of identical apartment buildings with no distinguishing characteristics whatsoever. I couldn't remember his apartment number. And I had to pee real bad.

So I knocked on a random apartment door. And they let me in to pee! I'm not making this up.

So I went back outside and waited on the curb, and then I got nervous that I was in danger, so I knocked on the same stranger's door again - and asked them to drive me back to my dorm, ten miles away! And they started to do it!

And then my boyfriend and his friends came around the bend of the driveway looking for me, and the guy whose door I'd randomly chosen said with great relief, "Is she yours?"

It's a miracle I lived to be 44, too.

51. if you think that's bad....
my brother lived in one of those places in college, and he had a room mate who, let's say, "enjoyed" a drink. This guy one time tried to come home from the bar, and either had lost his keys or couldn't get them to work, so he got really mad and started knocking on the door. He eventually kicked the door in to get inside.

Thing is, it wasn't their apartment, and there were people inside who lived there who were rather afraid and none too pleased. I can't remember if my brother had to go collect him that night or from the drunk tank the next morning.

and, yeah, this guy now is a husband and father, almost like a real adult - I wonder if he tells his wife and kids these stories.
