12. 9 days is nothing.

Mine regularly take 2 weeks and are lucky to be made correctly after 3 redos - that's 6 weeks if you're counting. One pair took over 2 months to get right.

Admitedly, I've got a tough Rx. High + in both eyes, reading addition, cylinder and (the killer) prism. My Rx even had the special notes field filled out. As in "see back" for a further explanation. And please don't suggest Lasik - four of the premier practices in Atlanta have rejected me.
