This is the greatest $3 invention EVER!!! Every household should have one
Edited on Mon Feb-25-08 11:34 AM by LynneSin
I shed! Seriously, I take a shower and usually end up losing a ton of hair. I do have one of those grill thingies I can put over the drain but half the time I forget the thing. So usually I end up with clogged pipes and lets face it - that drano barely does anything to get the hair out.

So about 2 years ago I found this at my local Lowes. I was so frustrated with chemicals inability to clear out the drain that I went to Lowes in order to find some even harsher chemicals to try. Instead I saw this plastic thing with 'snares' on the side.

Although I almosted puked with pulling the hair clog out of my drain, it cleared things up in about 15 minutes.

So this weekend my family is visiting me and my stepfather saw my Zip-It in my bathroom. I actually had it on the counter because my bathroom sink was slow draining. This guy has every home improvement tool out there but never saw anything like this before. After playing around with it on my bathroom sink, he cleaned the thing up and took it with him. He was absolutely stunned he didn't have one of these gadgets to clean out sink drains. (I didn't care that he took it - I figured I'd get another one and he did just add new railing on my stairs that day)

So I give you - the best $2.99 + tax invention you'll ever find - the Zip-it

http://www.zipitclean.com/
Warning - there are some pretty gross pictures of clogs being cleaned using the Zip-it

8. I have two daughters, both with very long hair...
it helped a LOT with the drain problem when I hung a hairbrush in the shower. When they rinse out the conditioner they run the brush through their hair and it catches a lot of it.

My hair sheds more in the fall/winter for some weird reason I can't fathom. And I certainly have bought enough stock in Liquid Plummr by now.

18. Unless, the slow or backing up drains is because your Duplex neighbors are flushing things...
that they should not be. We know it was them, because my wife does not use those things. Had to deal with a backing up sewer all weekend. GRUMBLE GRUMBLE...

20. I shed too. omg @ the pictures :o
Every time I pull hair out of the drain I feel ill.. And I can watch horror movies and maggots and anything gross but something about the hair, coming up out of the drain :puke: it gets to me more than anything.
I needed this thing so bad when I shared my husband's shower but I got so tired of clogging it up that I remodeled the downstairs bathroom so I could use that shower instead, it's got a stopper on it that won't let much hair down.. well I still have to pull a little out sometimes and it makes me wanna barf :puke: :puke: :puke:

27. It works without the drano but.....
if you have a really massive clog, sometimes just a lil bit of drano might help to loosen it up. First time I used it I needed a bit of drano. But future uses I could do without provided that I hadn't gone 5 years without cleaning out the drain.
