My Oma died

98 years old. One of the few remaining Sudetendeutscher from Eibenberg (Tisova). The single strongest woman I ever met: resisted the Nazis in her home town (who set up a POW camp there) at great peril to herself and my newly-minted Mom while her husband was listed as missing in action on the Crimean Peninsula.

She was the last grandparent I had and I'm going to miss her furiously.

I'll never forget the time she and her 2 sisters sat around one evening about 10 years ago, doing shots of Becherovka. She really loved life.

It is painful to lose a grandparent, especially your last one. She sounds like a wonderful woman. You were lucky to have such a relative.
