Pray for Me! I'm snow bound in my house...
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 06:38 PM by RetroLounge
Milwaukee: 1" to 2" of snow PER HOUR! There's gotta be over a foot so far, and it's getting worse now. The winds are gusting to 40mph, and the drifts have buried my car in the driveway. I've shovelled once, but now there's no real point. I couldn't even find the sidewalk. My front door is drifted shut. The neighbors with snow blowers have given up for now, since the drifts just recover their work in about 10 minutes.

and the snow plows? Ha! Saw one at 8am, and not another one since.

2 cars are stuck in the street between me and the only way out, as I live on a dead end street.

So, I have:

A package of Oreos.
12 pack of Dew.
A pack of Camels.
A good book. (Well, hundreds, but you know...)
A wireless connection.

I'm good. for now...

:hi:

the idea of being at home with sweet treats and books and no where to go sounds like heaven.

I have a wood burning stove and don't use the electric heat at all. Maybe you can get one of those instant fireplace things they sell these days, but they can only be used outside I guess. Keep warm.

They'll find you in the Spring when the snow melts, and you'll still be vibrating.

Everyone is home safe and sound. We're low on milk but Walgreen's is a block away--and that's only about an hour or so from the looks of it. sigh. The kid that was going to shovel never came back. I did get in other provisions yesterday so we're good. Take care, stay warm. :hi:

I feel your pain. I already can no longer see my fence, snow is pressed up against and obscuring the view from at least 2 windows in the house, when I let the dogs out there's nowhere for them to GO --- and we're s'posed to get another foot tonight.

snow bound. You're farther south than me and the big stuff missed us. But last week, when it was so blasted COLD and snowy and windy, I stayed home for the day and just relaxed with a good book. A wonderful, mini-vacation.

Hoping you stay safe and warm.

We had a pretty good blizzard in the NE about 5 years ago. My gf and I had decided to go away that weekend, it was Presidents Day weekend in fact, and we were stranded in a hotel in Rehoboth Beach, DE. It was us, and an gay AA convention snowed in for two days. Everytime we went down to the restaurant and ordered a glass of wine, everyone turned and looked at us like we'd just stolen the silverwear.
