Criticizing Boomers
how come Baby Boomers were allowed to criticize their elders but nowadays, they really take offense when younger people do the same to them? does the Baby Boom owe an apology to its parents' and grandparents' generations, or should it simply shut up and take it? I mean their elders only beat Hitler, integrated schools, fought for civil rights and won freedom of choice... whereas the Baby Boom brought us anthrogenic climate change, economic ruin and insane foreign policy...

so how about it Baby Boomers? have you forgotten what you used to say about your elders?

Is there any reason why we should trust anyone over 50?

1. Wow,
How ridiculous to generalize just on age. I guess the trust comes from within, maybe you don't trust yourself enough to know who to trust.

6. So... who were the ones saying "don't trust anyone over 30?"
I'm sensing a disconnect here.

10. Abbie Hoffman said that and the media picked it up.
Do you think we were taking that seriously? If you do, then you think we all said "groovy", too.

8. OKAY--Let's count the ways...
The Boomers were responsible for the Equal Rights Movement, women's liberation and we fought like hell to end the Vietnam war. Would you prefer that we hadn't done those things so you could fight those fights instead?

12. But you really didn't
The major players in those fights were all born prior to 1946. Sure the unwashed hoards were Boomers, but that doesn't mean anything. As you guys are so keen to suggest the Rock the Vote crowd didn't end up voting... it doesn't matter what the youth do... it's old people with pens that decide things.
