Does this make me a horrible person??
Went to a lunch at stbx's office, where I used to work for 20 years...
they had a lunch for someone who was leaving someone I know very well so I went

almost EX is away at a salesmen meeting...but the howorker was there..
I knew she would be, along with her sister who is the partner in crime.
So I got dressed to kill.... and I looked great. Plus I still wear my wedding ring. All of my friends were there
and we sat together..... along with my sister in law who's hubby is also an owner.

We had such a good time laughing and talking.... and as I was sitting there I realized that she would NEVER be in this circle, the people I was with do not respect her..... and I felt this sense of
nay nay nay nay nay.... ppffftttttt. or I guess what you might call a sense of superiority ......

Everyone said HI to me..... and bye.....

so does it make me a bad person because I ENJOYED that feeling????? :P

4. Out of curiousity, why do you still wear the ring?
Seems like taking it off might be a step forward for you.

(addded because I realized, after 5 or 6 years, that I just joined the 700 club.

9. I wear it for various reasons
first and for most I am still married.....

I know he isn't acting that way but until the judge signs the paper

well we are still "married"

I TRIED to take it off.... couldn't do it.... after 30 years it felt weird
but I do have this $5 blue mood ring band I bought in Fl.... I tried that on for a while :)

and last, my kids.... even though they are 24 and 30 it hit them hard...
both were very upset he took his ring off.....
so I guess I am trying to protect them to.....

I separated after 30 years (now divorced).
I was very happy to get the ring off. But then I was the one who wanted to move on.
My kids, about same ages as yours, were happy for me.

16. You wear that ring as long as you want to lost.
You earned it.

I get really asinine comments about mine up to and including,"He ended your marriage the day he died."

My heart, and my love belong to him alone...and I will never take it off.

21. Mrs. G - I wasn't telling her to take it off. Just asking.
And in your situation, I would probably not take mine off for a very long time.
Peace to you.

6. Nah. Horrible would be if you walked up to the woman and 'splained this in front of everyone.
Taking some glee in knowing that you are better liked and respected by your former coworkers is just a way of reminding yourself of your own worth.

You can't control them anyway, so what good is feeling guilty about it?

35. Oh I think she's unfortunate
She doesn't sound like the kind of person who will ever have a lot of close friends. I - for one - probably wouldn't trust her.

And good friends are what make the tough times endurable.
