Anyone do the Avon 2-day breast cancer walk?
We're thinking about doing it in May and just wondered what someone who's done it has experienced.

1. I don't know anyone who does it.
But if you do it, make sure you post a request for sponsors here. :)

3. Will do!
I did a cycling event for the American Cancer Society and got some generous help from here (with Skinner's permission, of course.)

We'll be sure to hit you up if and when the time comes. :-)

2. Someone at work has done it a couple of times.
She's in her mid-40s, quite athletic, a soccer player, ran in this year's Marathon and was quite annoyed when they stopped the race because of the heat. For her, the experience has been quite positive. Her husband doens't participate, but stays home to take care of their two young boys.

I understand that they have extremely fun parties sometime after the event to celebrate.

4. I did some more investigating
The walking part -- no problem.

But, you have to raise $1,800 to participate. I was thinking more like $1,000, which seemed doable. I'm not so sure anymore.
