In the Name of the King looks just like Lord of the Rings with a pinch of Eragon to suck out all originality.

And dude go to the website and look up the cast. http://inthenameoftheking.com Leelee Sobieski stole Arwen's dress and dyed it green! :o

And now there is a poor, naked Arwen running around somewhere, won't you pevs think of that!? :P

1. It's directed by Uwe Boll--you have no idea how much worse the movie will be than the preview
Uwe Boll is a pox on cinema, and considering some of the shit that gets released...well, that's saying something.

3. Not only a pox on cinema, but a pox on any attempt to turn a video game into a movie.
So this one's gonna be a double whammy.

What worries me though is the fact that they managed to get so many big-name actors for a no-name movie based on a very simple, generic (although decent) game. And then they topped off this list of great actors with Boll as the director. That gets a big WTF from me.

2. It's based on the Dungeon Siege computer game.

And we all know how good movie adaptations of computer games usually are. Street Fighter anyone? Mario Bros.? Tomb Raider?!? Mortal Kombat!??!?!!!?

4. More specifically it's from the guy who gave us "Alone in the Dark" and "House of the Dead"
Every time Uwe Boll gets work a kitty dies.

5. He's the SETI@Home of cinema...
...casting whichever actor is staying near his location, and filming for however many days he's available. He produces crap, of course, but he's very efficient about it, using no CPU cycles that wouldn't have simply been wasted.
