where would I go to buy powdered cheese?
years ago I remember a bulk food store that sold it - but I don't live near a bulk store.

Maybe its really easy to find, but I haven't found it because I haven't been looking for it.

Any suggestions?

1. WHY would you want powdered cheese, that's the question
Wait - I know. You need it for your cornflake-covered fried chicken.

2. the refridge is a cornocopea of odds and ends leftovers
left by various relatives. Brainstorming what the heck to do to easily dress some of it up. Don't ask.

And I never partook in that particular flame war.

3. Neither did I
But your post just screamed of the possibilities of turning into a new food snob flamewar so I thought I'd dive in.

Sorry.

5. No problem...
I did just ask, in the lounge, where one gets powdered cheese. Heh.

I think I will head to the store and just look around for inspiration to try to do something with the food filling the fridge.

:D

7. No, I have to admit, I am talking about
the dehydrated cheddar powder that comes in things like mac and cheese.

13. But WHY?
If you need to make mac and cheese, make the real thing. Ditto for anything else you would "need" powdered cheese for... why not use the real thing?

15. see above
desperate measures - and clearly since I am asking the question - this isn't something I normally do. But I have a fridge full of things like "cold-left over not quite mashed potatoes" - left by relatives. Trying to come up with some very quick fixes. One time deal. I swear. Not that it matters.

11. That is so pathetic... but even more so
is that fact that if I go that direction.... (the powdered cheese) I probably will raid a mac and cheese box! LOL :hi:
