My Cunning Plan actually WORKED!! (stuff for cats)

Thought I'd share this with you guys who have indoor kitties (kittehs?).

You know how they love fresh greens, and you can either get them at places like Petsmart, or buy the seeds for oatgrass (for $2.50 a packet) and grow your own?

Hmmm....Oatgrass seeds look an awful lot like regular oats, don't they?
:think: went down to local health food store, and bought some organic oats (for $1.29 per pound).
Soaked them in water for a couple days, then planted them in a 4" planting container leftover from summer...used plain old potting soil as medium.

SPROUTS ARE NOW ABOUT 4" TALL AND GROWING LIKE CRAZY!:bounce::woohoo:

This is going to be Christmas present for friends who have five indoor cats.

1. That's a good idea!

I'll bet dogs would like it, too. Do cats sometimes barf a grassball after eating it, as dogs do?
I bought bulk chia seeds to spread on the white elephant chia pet my son got one Christmas. Kept them damp but they never sprouted. :(
