1. Hahahahaha
Didja miss my Aerosmith thread Mr. S?

Drugs can ruin a good band, sometimes by not having 'em!

3. That would have to be "alleged" rehab for VH...
I saw Clapton live (many moons ago) drunk & stoned off his ass. He's one act that is far better -- post rehab.

4. Both Aerosmith and Van Halen have retired this
It was as the souls were sucked out their bodies along w/ the chemicals when they got clean...

10. I saw DLR play the Marion, OH Popcorn Festival in the early 90's
Purely by chance; my then-girlfiend and I were there to go to a B&B that night and happened onto the Downtown Festival and the concert in the small park nearby. I couldn't believe it; there was maybe 300-400 people there, and DLR looked like he wished he were playing a gig w/ Extreme instead, the poor bastard...

30. That's pretty uncool of him. A real star puts on the best show
they can whether they consider it degrading or not. I saw Joan Jett play a free show in a cowbarn for an event called 'Cattle Congress' and she destroyed. DLR is no Joanie.

8. We're finally picking up again
Now that the audience knows that Internet Radio isn't going to get jacked by the RIAA w/ the royalty rates, they are picking up again to where they were last year. We've got loyal listeners, bro; your show being one of the rocks of the sched..

6. Nothing could be worse than Van Halen's drunken disaster of a
show at the US Festival, 1983. David Lee Roth was so stoned out of his mind that he couldn't even sing 40% of the lyrics. The other 60% he mumbled so badly, no one could understand a word.

9. It's one thing to get stoned & get the best take while you're peaking in the studio...
...It's quite another thing to stay stoned on tour & deliver a great performance night after night.

14. But it was a CLASSIC fucking performance though!
And it wasn't just Dave, all 4 of them were shit-faced. And yet, it was everything that made Classic Van Halen a great show.

BTW, Rehab never killed Van Halen. Sammy Hagar did.

But they're back now, and sounding like they never left!

From the US Festival.......

putting my vote in before she gets there.

Rehab

They tried to make me go to rehab
I said no, no, no.
Yes I been black, but when I come back
You wont know, know, know.

I ain’t got the time
And if my daddy thinks im fine
He’s tried to make me go to rehab
I wont go, go, go.

I’d rather be at home with ray
I ain’t got 70 days
Cos there’s nothing, nothing you can teach me
That I can't learn from Mr. Hathaway

Didn’t get a lot in class
But I know it don’t come in a shot glass

They’re tryin to make me go to rehab
I said no, no, no
Yes I been black, but when I come back
You wont know, know, know.

I aint got the time,
And if my Daddy thinks im fine,
He’s tried to make me go to rehab,
I wont go, go, go.

The man said, why you think you here?
< Rehab lyrics found on http://www.completealbumlyrics.com >
I said, I got no idea
Im gonna, im gonna loose my baby
So I always keep a bottle near

Said, I just think you’re depressed
Kiss me, yeah baby
And go rest

I’m tryin to make me go to rehab
I said no, no, no
Yes I been black, but when I come back
You wont know, know, know

I don’t ever wanna drink again
I just, ooo, I just need a friend
Im not gonna spend 10 weeks
Have everyone think im on the mend

It’s not just my pride
It’s just til these tears have dried

They’re tryin to make me go to rehab
I said no, no, no
Yes I been black, but when I come back,
You wont know, know, know

I aint got the time,
And if my daddy thinks im fine
He’s trying to make me go to rehab
I wont go, go, go.
