I just saw "The Golden Compass," and I thought it did NOT suck.

Certainly the plot was flawed, but I found the story compelling. The story is obtuse and complicated, and it's proof positive of why it's impossible to properly translate a book into a movie. But it was very interesting.

I'm interested, and I look forward to the next movie.
