We decorated the Yule Tree tonight!
:woohoo:

I will upload photos tomorrow.

This year we got a "permanent" Yule tree, because last year we spent $85 on a real one, and that was the least expensive one we could find. And the minute we got it up, about 1/3 of the needles dropped off because it was sooooo dry. I was watering it 3 times a day and still worried about the damn thing catching fire.

:wow:

We got an "experienced" "permanent" tree for $40 off of CL and this tree came prelit!

:woohoo:

NO MORE STRINGING LIGHTS... NO MORE VACUUMING UP NEEDLES... NO MORE WATERING THE TREE THREE TIMES A DAY!

1. ALL RIGHT!
That's great news, my dear KW!

I haven't gotten ours up yet...

Just doing the cards tonight...

The only question I have...

What do you do when the little tree lights burn out? Are they replacable?

Congrats, sweetie!

2. I killed my real pine tree yesterday.
It was a "cut it yourself" place nearby. The 8' tree was only $25.00! They even cleaned it in some sort of shaking machine, bound it, and helped me tie it to the roof of the car.

I've managed to get all of the decorations out of the attic and the lights on this afternoon. Tomorrow I'll tackle the rest and take some pics to share. Can't wait to see your tree and I hope you're feeling better this evening.

3. We got a 7-ft. noble fir for $40
But, this is Oregon, and they grow 'em close by.

Have fun with the tree! :hi:

4. I'll put mine up tomorrow
I've had a real tree for the last few years--a gift from a couple in the church. But they became pissed about the unpleasantness over the summer, and aren't over it yet. So--No tree for me!! I was real bummed about it, but decided the place needs a tree, so I dug out my old artificial--also prelit. But after three years in storage, it'll probably need new bulbs. I missed the smell of pine. So, Friday, on my way home from homebound communions, I stopped and bought a real wreath, a nice big one, to hang in my living room. So, at least it smells like Christmas!

Oh, and I understand the worry about a live tree catching fire. Last year, it was still up when I left for vacation. I had my secretary go to the house twice a day to water and check it. Then I gave her a HUGE box of Ghirardellis to thank her.

Glad you've enjoyed putting your tree up, KW. I need to get more into the spirit myself. I'm looking forward to those photos!

5. Grandma's had her christmas tree up for awhile . .
It's in the middle of the hallway.. meaning you have to walk through the dinning room and kitchen to get to the living room.. which does not please the Commie Dog at all . . he is not amused.

At least I know my Mom's tree at her place this year is no longer the Redneck Christmas tree (That I recently posted about)

Never been a tree person, but the grandparents and Mom's love them . .so I guess they'll always be one somewhere nearby.
