JackMN + a church service = bad.
We took JackMN to a "Christmas program" at my IL's church last night (long back-story, there.) At the end of the "program" several men stood at the front of the sanctuary, dressed to represent Jesus at various life stages (childhood, young adulthood, crucifixion, etc). Jack stood up on my husband's lap, pointed his finger like a gun, aimed it at "the Jesuses" and started making shooting noises.

:banghead:

I'm primarily disturbed that he's emulating violent behavior, but it was embarrassing on a number of levels.

7. None of this would have happened,

...probably, if you would have just given him a laser pointer to play with during the service. Geez.

8. How many points did he get?
I'm thinking 50 for the smaller Jesus. Did he win a really big stuffed animal?

:silly:

12. The concept is a good one.
How the people practice it is another.

Church is a place where people come together and get chatty after a long preachy service (rather like going into a bar, except the booze is only handed out during communion). And dependent on what the preach is about.

16. Priceless memories...
nothing to be embarrassed by... and funny as hell!

My BIL, as a 4 year old (late 1970's), couldn't sit still through mass. There was a 'crying room' at the back of the sanctuary (normally used for infants). Fidgety Mike had been escorted to the 'crying room' mid-way through the service and my MIL returned to her seat on the pew. After the congregation had finished a rousing hymn you could hear Virtuoso
Mike singing 'You Light Up My Life' at the top of his lungs.

The shooting/gun obsession is normal. Ignore it and it will pass. Draw attention to it and he will do it longer just to embarrass you! :P
