Your dream pets?
Not counting exotic animals (by which I mean animals that are obviously not meant to be pets, like tigers, wolves and bears), and assuming that you have the money/space/time to take care of it--what would your dream pet(s) be?

Mine would be Arabian horses, St. Bernard dogs, a huuuuge tropical fishtank full of all kinds of fish, and an African Grey parrot.

1. any horse would do
I have always wanted a horse.

But, I think we're gonna settle for a goat. A show goat. And we're gonna name her Lola.

not really though, we can barely feed ourselves, let alone another animal.

3. A cat that has no need or desire for waste elimination.
I love cats, I can't stand the smell/cleaning/thought of cat boxes.

11. ooooo, I've never heard of that breed....
They look like bengals to me. I was going to reply bengal cat, but I'd like them to be TWICE as large (about 50 lbs) THAT would be neato!

7. I usually have wolves somewhere in my dreams
but that's not what not are asking huh, hmm...

Assuming I had the money to do what I wanted?

I would build an elaborate series of pens, cages and office rooms to hold abandoned, mistreated and otherwise homeless animals. Once it was up and operational I would donate the facility to the Humane Society or a NoKill organization.

I would then move to another area who doesn't have a facility like that and build one and move again. I'd do this 'til the end of my days.

:hi:

8. I'd like to have just a regular dog or a cat
But my lifestyle and condo association make it very inpractical. There's a little cat that's been hanging around my front door. Every time she sees me coming home she tries to get into my condo. I've lived here since August and I think the previous owner may have left her here. I'd love to have her, but for the above stated reasons I just can't do it. I'm going to try to find her a home before it gets too cold. My neighbors across the way are feeding her and they have a box with a towel in it set out that she uses as a bed.

25. They are on my list of breeds I would love to have...
I think they are so sweet. When I looked into them a few years ago, there were some genetic health problems that dissuaded me. I don't know if those problems have been bred out yet.

13. More cats ... with a wonderful inside/outside enclosure so they could be safe.
I have three indoor kitties now, and I'm jonesing for more. :loveya: I'm partial to kitties with some white fur on them (like half-orange/half-white) but I love all kitties of all sizes, shapes and colors.

I've also got a bunny and lots of aquatic creatures now. I feel sorry for the bunny being by himself, but I don't really want to be in the bunny biz indefinitely. He showed up in our yard (someone undoubtedly dumped him) and we took him in to save him from coyotes. He's sweet and all-black.

Had you asked me 35 years ago, I would have answered "a black Morgan gelding horse with a white stripe down his nose and four white socks." :) ... I actually did wind up getting a horse when I was a kid, and he was a black/brown Morgan/Quarter Horse mix. I was spoiled, I know.

15. I already have my dream pets.
My cats and my dog.

The only thing I would wish is that I were rich and could open both a German Shepard Rescue and a homeless cat rescue.

In the meantime I just give my current pets all the care I can.

Actually :D I'm gonna have a little house on a few acres in the mountains someday where I'll have chickens (pets not food) and goats and donkeys, I hope! For now though I want a rat, I'm just scared my cats wouldn't deal with it.

26. Speaking as the owner of two Great Pyrenees...
I gotta burst your bubble. Our Pyrs may well be the laziest dogs God ever made.
Utterly sweet, cuddly, huggable, gentle giants. But their best trick is rug impersonations.
If I want real exercise, I have to go for a walk without the dogs.
Perhaps if a wolf or bear turned up they'd get active...but, failing that (not likely here in
Philadelphia) it's mostly dignified snoozes and the occasional lean-on-mama for attention
that fills their day. And gently putting up with one of our five cats. (Dennis,an Orange Tabby Tom who rubs up against
them, talks to them and generally makes it clear he'd like to run with the big dogs.)
Except the big dogs don't run.
