What movie can't friends believe YOU like?
I'm an atheist and my friends can't believe that I just love the movie Sister Act (Part one only. Part II sucked.)

3. I sat in a movie theater lobby a few years ago
bemoaning to a friend that South Park was coming out as a movie. I had never watched the show at this point and wrote it off as a lowest common denominator cartoon about talking poop. We were waiting to see Episode One. Fast forward three months later, I was ashamed for wasting money on Episode One and telling everyone I knew to see "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut." I was repeatedly ask "Who are you and what have you done with FunBobby?"

4. "Resevoir Dogs"

I absolutely love that movie and my friends are shocked because they can't believe how much blood and violence are in the movie. I normally don't like movies like that but RD is excellent, can watch it over and over and still get something new from it. Same can be said of "Pulp Fiction", another one of my favorites.

Edit: I also get alot of looks for "Spinal Tap".

6. Sound of Music
I know, I despise musicals, and sappy sacchariney crap, but I love the music, the story, and especially the singing. Just love it. When I got the DVD, I bet I watched it almost every day for a couple weeks.

7. It's one of my favorite movies, Rabrrrrrr
along with Victor/Victoria, and anything else where Julie Andrews sings in that superlative soprano.

and totally in love with Julie Andrews.

I just melt when I hear her.

Too bad she never got to do a Star Trek episode.

9. kung fu movies
like Drunken Master

I do tai chi, but mostly I think those movies are really funny. It was the only thing that enabled me to sit through Kill Bill. Actually, I did like the sword stuff.

10. Dirty Dancing
It's my favorite movie of all time. The girls don't rag me half as bad as my guy friends. "That's such a chick movie" or "Dude, Patrick Swayze is gay". Yeah, not cool.

13. Coal Miners Daugher and Fight Club
I pretty much dislike most country music, but I like the story. (Young mom of four still makes her way and succeeds regardless.)

People who REALLY know me (and my politics) aren't surprised by Fight Club, but for a few who "don't get it" were shocked.

17. Here's the list
"Legally Blonde"

Sing along with the theme song, do the "bend and snap"...I'm as far from a Barbie doll as you can imagine, but I looooove this movie.

"Con Air"

Hate blood, hate violence, cry at the end when Poe's reunited with his family and Trisha Yearwood sings THAT SONG.

"Slap Shot"

Bloody. Violent. Absolutely non-PC and funny as hell.

"American Wedding"

Stifler should be locked up somewhere for his own good. It has the most -- shall we say, creative? -- obscenities I've ever heard. In the meantime, it has no redeeming social value whatsoever. I loved it.

Julie
